Account deletion

Delete your Synastry Stories account.

You can delete your account and its synced data from inside the app. If you no longer have access to the account, email us and we will delete it for you.

Can't sign in?

Email support@synastrystories.site from the account address if you still have it, and tell us which account to delete. We will confirm once it is gone.

Delete it in the app

  1. Open the You tab.
  2. In the Account section, choose Delete account.
  3. Type delete my account to confirm, then enter your password.

Deletion is immediate and permanent. There is no restore window.

What gets deleted

  • Your account and email address.
  • Every birth profile you saved, including ones synced from another device.
  • Your relationships, synced story history, and earned bridge tools.
  • The anonymous browser records tied to the account, along with the share cards, invite links, and Friend Council questions that hang off them.
  • The app's copy of your data in this browser, which is cleared for you on the way out.

Share cards and invite links minted from the account stop working, including links you already sent to someone else. Anything the other person already saved or screenshotted is outside our control.

What we keep

Erasing your account removes your personal data, but two kinds of record survive:

  • Purchase and subscription records. Tax and accounting law requires us to keep a record of what was bought and paid, for as long as that law requires (up to 10 years). These hold transaction details - what was bought, when, and the amount - and not your birth data, story content, or notes. They are also held by the payment provider under their own policy.
  • A deletion record. We keep a note that the deletion happened and when, so we can show the request was honoured. It contains no birth data, names, or story content.

Everything else goes immediately and permanently. There is no backup copy we can restore from, and no other retention period.

Before you delete

While you are still signed in, you can download a copy of your synced data as a JSON file from your data export. Once the account is deleted, that data is gone.

If you have an active subscription, cancel it first in the subscription portal. We refuse to delete an account that is still being billed, because erasing our records would leave you charged with nothing to reconcile against.

Clear just this browser

If you only want to clear what is stored on this device, use Reset local data in the You tab. That leaves your account and synced server data in place. To clear it, delete the account as described above and then reset local data.

More on your data

The privacy policy covers what we collect, which third parties receive data, and how long we keep it. For anything else, open Support.
